This robot that is 2-in-1 is perfect if you need a vacuum and mop combo with a large water reservoir and customizable cleaning schedules areas that are app-enabled to stop mopping, 3D object avoidance, and much more. It also mops, with mop pads that rotate to remove dried coffee and ketchup stain.
Roborock S8+
The Roborock S8+ takes the coveted most popular robot vacuum and mopping combo title from last year’s S7 MaxV Ultra, combining its top-notch performance in both areas, with a plethora of new features. The app is more powerful than ever before, and it allows you to create 3D maps of your home and create no-go zones and also customizing cleaning settings for specific rooms. You can schedule cleaning sessions to ensure that your home is never left unattended.
The S8+ uses a LIDAR mapping system to map your home and it sends a detailed coverage map to the companion app at the conclusion of each vacuuming session. It uses this map to automatically determine the best route and avoid obstacles. In my testing it was a massive success and the S8+ was able to navigate through even the most difficult obstacles.
To mop, the S8+ makes use of an scrubbing pad that vibrates to tackle dirt and grime on hard flooring. This is a great option for those with a high-pile carpet and don’t want the hassle of traditional vacuuming. The mopping pad will be automatically lowered and empty after it’s finished. This means there won’t be sticky spills or ugly plastic mats left behind. The robot docks automatically and cleans and dry the scrubbing pads to prevent them from accumulating odors and bacteria.
While it’s not equipped with an integrated camera, the S8+ is still an ideal choice for those who are looking for a robot capable of handling both mopping and vacuuming in one go. It has a suction power of 6 000 Pascals and an intelligent navigation system that can recognize and avoid obstacles. The S8+ has a streamlined dock that handles emptying the dirt container and water tank and recharging the mop pad as needed.
The S8+ is expensive, however, it’s one of the most powerful vacuums and mop robots available. If the S8+ isn’t in your price range you can go with the Roborock S8 standard ($749 on Amazon) that’s 600 dollars less expensive and does not come with its docking station.
Braava Jet m6
This robot mop comes with its own cleaning solution, much like the iRobot Roomba robotic vacuum cleaners. You can pick from three different mopping settings that are: Standard, which is a compromise of the power of cleaning and vacuum and mop combo the size of the areas covered; Deep, which boosts the cleaning power but limits coverage to reach stuck-on messes. Extended Coverage is a great method to quickly sweep large areas without getting messy.
The m6 is compact and quiet and you can keep it running while doing other chores around the home. It also uses iAdapt 3.0 Navigation with vSLAM technology to learn the layout of your home and then create your own Smart Maps that direct it to specific rooms. These maps allow you to create virtual barriers known as Keep Out Zones and gain greater control over chores of cleaning.
In our tests we found that the Braava Jet m6 did an excellent job of navigating and mowing our test floor. It was able to remove all kinds of spills we tried including food-colored water, honey and mud. There was very little debris left on the pads. It was also quite effective in our hallway, which has a lot of doors that open to it.
The app that controls the m6 is intuitive and simple to use. The m6 is also a nice addition because it works with iRobot Roomba cleaners. It will automatically return to base after vacuuming and continue mopping the area it left. The app is where you’ll find all your scheduled mopping tasks and the maps of your home made by iRobot’s Imprint Mapping Technology.
There’s also a useful feature that lets you alter the direction in which the robot vacuums and allows it to move in a different direction or skip a particular area of your floor. This is beneficial in the event that you have furniture or other objects that can block its path and hinder it from reaching the entire area of your floor. The m6 is also compatible with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. You can make use of voice commands to arrange it to clean your floors if you want.

One of the coolest things about the Q Revo is its auto-empty dock. It empties the robo-vac’s bin into a bag that can be reused and then refills and empties the cleaning tanks.
